Gray Wolf Ranch

Community Involvement

An essential element in the intermediate level of care we provide at Gray Wolf is to help residents readjust to the world of ordinary daily activity as clean and sober individuals. To accomplish this, they participate in a variety of paid and volunteer activities, either for individuals or in partnership with community agencies and organizations.

Some residents, especially as they become familiar with the resources in the community, will take on full or part-time jobs. Others will offer an average of ten hours per week of volunteer services ranging from landscaping and wooden boat repair to tutoring elementary students or sharing their own recovery history with local middle school students.

In addition to providing the residents an opportunity to practice recovery principles in daily life, they have a safe, supportive environment to return to at the end of the day. Here they can share the impact of their experiences and to be affirmed for meeting life's challenges without using mood-altering chemicals.
