A major accomplishment for us during this past year was the creation
of a nonprofit organization called 4806 Foundation. The Foundation
was born out of our experiences here at Gray Wolf Ranch. It was
clear that many young people who were seeking treatment for substance
abuse, chemical dependency, and related disorders could not afford
the treatment that was needed, whether at Gray Wolf or at another
facility. Based on the belief that no one should be turned away
because of financial need, 4806 Foundation was formed to provide
a financial resource for the young men and women who are trying
to turn their lives around and become sober and productive adults.
Scholarships will be available for participation in
the private-sector treatment programs that have been approved by
the Foundation. The selected therapy providers must meet stringent
criteria, including licensing, accreditation, cost-effectiveness,
and a proven history of success. Recipients of 4806 scholarships
must be accepted into one of these approved programs, in addition
to demonstrating financial need.
4806 Foundation is also committed to advising
and educating young people about the many options available to them
in their struggle with substance abuse and to providing information
on types of treatment and referrals to licensed providers.

4806 Foundation is a nonprofit corporation in the State
of Washington and is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as
a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization. Our commitment through
4806 Foundation is to function in the most efficient way possible,
keeping administrative costs to a minimum and making sure that the
funds go where they are needed the most. By making payments directly
to the approved providers, the funds that are contributed to 4806
have the greatest possible benefit.
If you are interested in donating to 4806, or if you
know of a deserving young person who could use assistance, please
give us a call. Donations to 4806, in the form of cash or in the
form of assets such as shares of stock or real estate, are tax deductible.
You can find more detailed information regarding the tax advantages
of planned giving on the 4806 website at www.4806foundation.com.

.She hit the ground running, with two graduations to cook
for during her firstweek at the Ranch, and she hasn't regretted a minute
of it. As she puts it, "Here I am in my late forties--who would
have thought that I would be cooking for a group of two dozen young
men? Certainly not me! But it's been a fun transition from cooking
for two teenage girls who are always dieting. The guys are really
terrific to cook for and are eager to eat whatever I've prepared.
They not only come in to help with the cooking, but they also do
the dinner cleanup. And they thank me for dinner every night. I've
also received lot of helpful tips and advice from the Gray Wolf staff--several
have been professional cooks. They've been wonderful!"
