| PARENT'S LETTER |
Dear David, (David Lewis is GWR's Program Director)
I am writing this letter to express our very heartfelt thanks
to you, Peter, and all the staff at GWR. It is very hard
to find the appropriate words to express just how thankful
we are. Because of your help and Hazelden's, our son Bill
just celebrated one year clean and sober. I am thankful each
day for this change in our lives. We felt so desperate and
without hope until finding out about Hazelden and then GWR.
Bill had experiences with you that he will treasure for a
lifetime. He speaks of Washington as God's place. He has
fond memories of the staff, treks, and friends he made. I
postponed writing this letter until we knew the outcome of
Bill's legal problems. (Gratefully, all obligations have
been resolved). He is doing very well and has matured a lot.
He is confronting his temper a lot better and working hard.
He is still working at the drywall warehouse 55 hours a week
and now he has work program on Sundays. He has continued
to work out at the gym, and looks good. They suspended his
driver's license for six months. Now that he knows his sentence,
he can find out about returning to college in September.
He attends AA meetings a couple times a week.
Thank you once again for helping make this all possible.
Bill and Shirley Lamb
