Welcome to the 7th edition of the PATHFINDER. Starting
with this issue, were giving our newsletter a
fresh look, with new graphics and layout, but with
the continued goal of being informative and educational.
This month were also launching an updated version
of our brochure. This new booklet describes the expanded
and diversified services we provide here at Gray Wolf
Ranch. Were proud of the programs we offer to
young men recovering from addiction, and we want that
to be reflected in our publications.
One of our new offerings--our Wolfs Den--has
already proven to be a popular option in aftercare
housing. The four-person house is adjacent to the main
Gray Wolf Ranch lodge. The Wolfs Den residents,
who are graduates of the Gray Wolf program, continue
to receive guidance from our staff as they take the
next step towards sound, sober living. We are now exploring
the potential for expanding the Wolfs Den capacity
from four residents to eight.
As our activities and levels of care increase, Gray
Wolfs accreditation levels continue to grow as
well. Starting in November, our trekking program will
go through a consulting review for accreditation through
the Association for Experiential Education, with the
on-site review scheduled for February 2001. This credential
is awarded to an elite set of substance-abuse treatment
centers that specialize in wilderness treks.
On July 12th, we celebrated the third anniversary
of our program. During these three years, we have admitted
over 170 young men from all over the United States
and from many corners of the globe, including South
America, Britain and Australia. Weve been grateful
for the opportunity to provide care for this very deserving
group of young men. As we move into our fourth year,
wed like to express our appreciation for your
support and consideration, and we look forward to hearing
from you.
