As many of
you may already know, David Lewis resigned his position
at Gray Wolf Ranch effective in December. On behalf of
the Gray Wolf Ranch Board of Directors, I would like
to take this opportunity to thank David for his years
of dedicated service. We have been on an amazing journey
with tremendous results that could not have been realized
without David.
It is hard to experience change, and saying good-bye is not easy. We
wish David calm seas and fair winds as he embarks on a new phase of
his life. We will all miss him.
However,
I am happy to announce that Elwood “Woody” Bernas
has accepted the position of Program Director at GWR, and
I couldn’t be more delighted.
In August,
1989, Woody entered the Counselor Training Program at the
Hazelden Foundation. He was subsequently hired as a counselor
on the Hazelden Silkworth primary men’s unit in 1990;
five years later, he became the Unit Supervisor.
ln July, 2000, Woody was named the Director of
Alumni Relations. In January, 2002, Woody became
the Director of Hazelden’s newly
created division of Continuing Care and Alumni Services.
Woody
has helped to shape the direction for continuing care at
Hazelden. He has participated in reorganizing services
and how they are offered, and has contributed to the visioning
and planning for the creation and future of new and innovative
services.
In short,
Woody brings a wealth of experience and, perhaps more importantly,
a gift of considerable talent to our program. Gray Wolf
Ranch will be well served by his expertise and guidance
starting on May 1st. I know that you will all join me in
welcoming him.
