Our "First-Ever" Alumni Trek was held January 21-23, 2000. Ten local Alumni who live in Port Townsend had a great time hiking up the Hoh River Valley in the Olympic Mountains. Counselor Kris Kampf and Trek Leader Mo Witschard accompanied them. The weather was fantastic, with blue sky and plenty of sunshine. Eight inches of compact snow covered the ground. And spirits were high! The group may have started a new tradition by stopping at the Sequim Aquatic Center for a swim and sauna before hitting the Ranch for cleanup.

The feedback we received from this trip was so positive that we have decided to sponsor more Alumni treks. We are currently in the planning stages for a trip in August. We want to give plenty of notice so those Alumni who do not live nearby can make travel arrangements.

The trek is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, August 3, 2000 through Monday, August 7, 2000. We will be sending out individual information packets to GWR Alumni and would greatly appreciate your prompt response.
