Welcome to our fifth edition of the PATHFINDER. I hope all of you are enjoying the new millennium! Ever since we opened our doors at Gray Wolf Ranch three years ago, it has been my goal to attain licensing from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). This high level of endorsement is awarded to organizations that meet the nationally recognized standards established by CARF.

This past December, two representatives from CARF conducted an extensive review of our facilities based on a demanding set of criteria. We are pleased to announce that CARF has certified Gray Wolf Ranch as a Residential Treatment Facility. It is particularly rewarding to have achieved this distinction after only two-and-a-half years of operation.

Our support staff, clinicians, management, and ownership are very proud of this achievement and the hard work and dedication that it represents. It attests to our allegiance to our mission: to provide a structured and safe environment for young men entering early recovery. As we move ahead, we will continue to maintain these high standards as a state-of-the-art wilderness recovery house, providing the best quality care for our residents.

In this issue of the PATHFINDER you will meet some of the people who contribute to our program. Thank you for spending some time with us.

Sincerely, David Lewis
