Resident
Handbook
(from GWR Resident Handbook )
- You are expected to know the contents of this handbook.
- You are expected to respect all legal rights of your
peers at Gray Wolf Ranch; confidentiality is a legal right
(“what you see and hear here, let it stay here”)
- You are expected to refrain from
exploiting the vulnerability of your peers.
- You are expected to attend at least four Twelve Step
meetings per week with your peers in the community.
- You are expected to do 2 “one to ones” with
a peer each week.

scheduled therapeutic groups, house groups, and community
meetings. Groups are designed to provide help and support
to all.
- You are expected to share concerns and to confront
your peers on issues related to program rules or expectations
not met.
- You are expected to practice honesty by being where
you say you will be. If you have a change of plans, you
are expected to call the Business Office and notify Gray
Wolf Ranch staff.
- You are expected to discuss in a group or community
meeting with your peers any anticipated social contact
with anyone who is not a Gray Wolf Ranch resident; such
contacts require the advance approval of your counselor.
You are expected to plan ahead to allow yourself enough
time to process the contact effectively.

not being operated by Gray Wolf Ranch staff.

Room”, the Port Townsend Recreation Center, and any
other locations designated as “off-limits” by
Gray Wolf Ranch clinical staff. You are also expected to
stay out of any private residence.
- You are expected to be available for both community
service and house chores. After two weeks of residency,
you will schedule and document 20 to 25 hours per week
of productive time, which may include community service
activities, academic work, employment, AA/NA meetings,
and athletic club workouts. You are responsible for documenting
your schedule for the upcoming week by Friday morning.
- You are expected to discuss any community service,
academic, or employment opportunities with your counselor
and the Program Resource Coordinator before making any
commitments. Once you have committed to something, you
are expected to process with your counselor any consideration
of discontinuing or altering your commitment.
- You are expected to comply with Gray Wolf Ranch staff
direction, without argument or challenge. After complying,
you may utilize the grievance procedure if you believe
it is warranted.
- You are expected to dress appropriately at all times;
casual attire is the standard. You are to wear a shirt
and shoes in all common areas. Sunglasses and hats may

worn outside of your bedroom.
- You are expected to refrain from any significant
changes in your appearance (extreme haircuts or hairstyles,
hair bleaching or coloring, piercings, tattoos, etc.).
- You are expected to keep your room neat and clean
at all times; other areas are to be kept clean through
your daily participation.

leaves Gray Wolf Ranch each weekday at 9:00 a.m. General
house chores are to be completed by 8:15 a.m.; cleaning
of bathroom and kitchen surfaces is to be completed by
8:55 a.m. Please see schedule for weekend, event days,
