A Head Start on a Lifelong Journey
The path to recovery that residents begin at Gray Wolf Ranch continues on throughout their lifetimes. We view it as our responsibility to make sure that each graduate is prepared to continue his recovery and has learned to be accountable for his own future. Accordingly, we begin planning for a resident’s aftercare well in advance of his graduation. In the weeks leading up to a resident’s discharge, his treatment team begins to put together a continuing care plan containing referral resources for ongoing recovery support, vocational and educational placement and staff follow-ups to ensure a smooth transition to life on his own.
Wolf’s Den
One option open exclusively to Gray Wolf graduates is the Wolf’s Den, a continuing-care option geared primarily for graduates who have not only successfully completed our residential program, but who have built strong ties to the local community through a fulltime job, school or both.
The Wolf’s Den offers the next step for Gray Wolf graduates, providing safe, sober houses with limited structure and supervision, but with the full support of Gray Wolf staff and peers. Den residents have access to Gray Wolf Ranch services and are encouraged to participate in Gray Wolf activities and trips. The Wolf’s Den operates two homes located in the heart of Port Townsend’s Uptown District with easy access to public transportation as well as to local businesses and events.

Pathfinder Newsletter
Many graduates retain strong ties to Gray Wolf Ranch, returning for visits or getting together for reunions across the country. The Pathfinder newsletter is a great way to stay in touch as well as a valuable aftercare resource, published bi-annually and archived here on our website.
